Weekend will take place from Friday, June 11 to Saturday, June 12 on PRIME TICKET, KABC 790 AM, 95.5 KLOS FM, KHJ 930 AM, KCAL 9, www.dodgers.com and www.thinkcure.org to promote awareness and raise funds for cancer research. As in years past, this year’s ThinkCure! events will include continuous programming on the Dodgers’ broadcast partners throughout the weekend, an enhanced online auction, Dodger player and coach participation, stories from cancer survivors, celebrity involvement and in-stadium entertainment. Fans will be able to take pictures with former Dodgers, including Ron Cey, Steve Yeager and Tommy Davis, for a donation to ThinkCure! and Dodger alumni and Dodger wives will help answer donation calls to the ThinkCure! hotline. The Think Blue sign at Dodger Stadium will be changed to read “ThinkCure” and the official ThinkCure! logo will be painted on the field. The online auction begins on dodgers.com on June 8 and will run through June 14. Auction items include once-in-a-lifetime Dodger experiences, autographed Dodger memorabilia, radio experiences, restaurant gift certificates and activities around Los Angeles. Highlights include a visit with Vin Scully in the broadcast booth, an Italian dinner with Tommy Lasorda, a 2011 Dodgers Spring Training trip, a ride on a Los Angeles Fire Department fire boat, a Fender guitar signed by Slash, the chance to throw out the first pitch at a Dodger game and more. ThinkCure! is an innovative, community-based non-profit that accelerates collaborative research to cure cancers.
