Exciting News for ThinkCure!'s Future

#ThinkCureFightsCancer

Throughout its history, we have strived to operate ThinkCure! so the generosity of our donors translates to the most funding possible for cancer research. Toward that end, the board of directors of ThinkCure! recently determined the organization’s mission is best achieved by becoming part of City of Hope.

We are so grateful for the support given to ThinkCure! during its eight year history. Your support has enabled us to give over $2 million to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and City of Hope to provide seed-funding for high-risk, high-return cancer research to accelerate progress. We are immensely proud our efforts have enabled local researchers to secure an additional $40 million in cancer research funding.

Dr. Stephen J. Forman, Chair of the Board of ThinkCure! and Francis & Kathleen McNamara Distinguished Chair in Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation at City of Hope, offers his thoughts on this transition. “City of Hope was integral to the creation of ThinkCure! and benefited for many years from its support of our researchers. We remain committed to its vision of community-based fundraising for the life-saving research we do. We rely on the generosity of Angelinos to support this work. Sustaining and bolstering ThinkCure!’s community-based fundraising activities reinforce the connection between the Los Angeles area community and our efforts.”

Joe Fay, Executive Director of ThinkCure!, added, “We are so grateful for the support Angelinos have offered ThinkCure! for eight years. We are excited by the opportunity to continue our work funding cancer research and cures at City of Hope, which can amplify our efforts. We look forward to the day we share in the defeat of cancer. We hope those who have supported us will continue to involve themselves with our events and support the important cancer research done at City of Hope.”
